Any home built or renovated since 2001 is potentially harboring this stuff. Much of it was imported under American brands and mixed in with domestic drywall. Not all Chinese drywall is a problem, to further complicate the picture. If you have enough of the bad stuff, it will wreak havoc with your electrical system and components, with the potential to cause arcing which could cause an electrical fire.
